Spatial
Resolution / Field of View
Wide
Area Surveillance vs. Target Recognition
Shorter focal lengths provide a wide field of view.
- Greater
area coverage for a given working distance but with less target
resolution.
- Longer
focal lengths provide a narrow field of view.
- Less
area coverage for a given working distance but greater target
resolution.
- For
optimal quality, choose a focal length that will fill at least
1/3 of the frame area with the target.
The field of view for this camera is too large. The target is approximately
1/300 of the frame area.
