The Center is actively engaged in monitoring research and development of less-than-lethal weapons and maintains a limited capability to characterize less-than-lethal weapons. The Center maintains working relationships with the National Institute of Justice program of R&D for Less-than-Lethal weapons, the Nonlethal Weapons Program of the Department of Defense, the United States Marine Corps, the Untied States Army, and individual, independent developers and distributors. The Center's program goal is to encourage and facilitate the effective development of this emerging technology.
