The Center has established close working relationships with multiple urban Emergency Operations Centers for the purpose of observing planning, rehearsal and actual event management. The goal of the Center is to identify and record operational requirements and assess and demonstrate technology in support of those public safety agency requirements. The Center has, on several occasions, assisted with limited technical experiments of promising technology. During the 2000 Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles, the Center facilitated demonstrations of computer visualization tools, imagery and complex incident management software for assessment by city, county and state governments and public safety agencies.
